The now-famous lawsuit involving a cup of McDonald’s hot coffee and a burned customer requires peeling back the layers to understand how the jury arrived at its controversial verdict. The goal is not to agree with the verdict, but to understand what motivated the lawsuit and the jury’s response to it.
